Meet Tommy.
Hi, I’m Dr Tommy principal veterinarian and co-founder of Hillside Vet Services. I graduated from James Cook University in 2018 and have worked across a range of equine and small animal practices, including general and emergency clinics.
I take a calm, thoughtful approach to veterinary care—never rushed, always focused on keeping animals relaxed, comfortable, and stress-free during every visit. My professional passion lies in equine dentistry, podiatry, and wellness. I’ve completed advanced training with Equine Dental Veterinary Services (EDVS) Level 1 and 2, where I developed a strong foundation in oroscopic imaging, oral pathology, and advanced dental techniques. I love helping horses feel and perform their best through early detection, gentle treatment, and long-term care planning.
I also enjoy working with dogs and cats—particularly in the areas of internal medicine, orthopaedic disease, and preventative health. I'm confident with diagnostic ultrasound and radiography and find great value in providing in-home care where pets feel most at ease.

Meet Emily.
Hi, I’m Emily - practice manager, veterinary nurse and co-founder of Hillside Vet Services. I have been in the veterinary industry for over 6 years now. In this time I have worked in a mixed animal practice doing small and large animal nursing but predominantly equine work as this is my passion. I also worked at a small animal referral and specialist hospital as well as emergency work.
I have a natural way with animals, but especially horses. I love working with them and am very passionate about the breeding and performance side of it. I ensure each and every animal is treated like my own and always work with them the best way that suits their individual needs. I breed and compete showjumping bred warmbloods myself and love to educate and hear peoples stories with their horses! I love horse nutrition and helping each owner achieve optimal health and performance with their horses
I pride myself on listening, engaging and building a relationship with our patient’s human’s and am always up for a chat. Our aim here at HVS is to take our time, make you feel heard, ensure you understand what we are doing and why and answer any question you have.
Because as an animal lover myself I know how important these guys are to us!
